Zonta Club of Townsville Metro Inc.

Welcome to the Zonta Club of Townsville Metro website.

The Townsville region, with a population of approximately 160,000 is widely regarded as the capital of North Queensland, Australia.  This coastal city is the gateway to the North Queensland Outback.  Townsville provides the northern link for State and Federal Governments, as well as for private enterprise in primary and secondary industries, mining, commerce, retail, and community and cultural services.  The Great Barrier Reef and the beautiful Magnetic Island are at our doorstep.

Townsville is located approximately 1500 km north of Brisbane (Queensland’s capital city) by road, or 1.5 hours by air travel, and is serviced by all major airlines.  Rail and bus services also travel to Townsville.  Townsville boasts a number of fine art galleries, excellent parks and walking/bike tracks, and the world-renowned Strand, all under the gaze of the majestic Castle Hill.

Townsville is lucky to have two Zonta Clubs.  The Zonta Club of Townsville Metro was chartered on the 17th of June 2004, and currently enjoys a membership of 19 women who seek to advance the status of women worldwide.  The Zonta Club of Townsville Metro holds a dinner meeting on the first Wednesday of every month.  Currently our meeting venue is the Commonwealth Hotel, 44-46 Allen St, South Townsville and we meet at 5.30pm for a 6:00pm meeting start. Please contact us by email if you would like to join us for an evening of fellowship.

For more information, please contact our President Barb Coleman on Ph 0407134274 or send an email.  We also welcome all members visiting from other Zonta Clubs.
